First time for us in Troy, lets hope its a good one...
We get to Troy amid rain and wind, really enough allready. The spot is a little small and our first in a parking lot, which means no mud by it feels a little uncomfortable. We brought the whole dog and pony (trophys and such) because we are doing a peoples choice contest (they privide the ribs). We get set up and I begin cooking the ribs for the peoples choice, I had to go two rounds in the backwoods to get them done. Cooked them tender, very tender. We piled them up on the five footer (grill) before the contest started, you should have seen the people waiting! We sold out of ribs (36 racks) in 15 minutes! People loved them! Come to find out a local restaurant and a couple unnamed teams cooked extra ribs to try and win this contest... Well it didn't work, Good Smoke BBQ burried the competition, the people have decided! Grand champs of the peoples choice! Thanks to my Dad and Genny for manning the point of sale and moving those ribs!
KCBS was not all that great we get calls in pork and brisket but again the ribs and chicken are not there. The spare rib experiment is not working... And we need to find something better than the silly chicken thighs we do now, Next stop hudson valley...
